Can you imagine being ripped from your mother’s womb piece by piece? This is what happens when a child is aborted, the deliberate termination of a pregnancy. Every 23 seconds a baby is aborted in the U.S. Abortion is wrong because it is murder, safer options are available and birth control can be used to prevent conception but is not. A baby’s life begins at the time of conception. Did you know that at six weeks the heart of the baby has already begun to beat and brain waves can be measured? Most abortions are performed between seven to ten weeks. Safe options such as adoption can be used instead. Parents that cannot have children would love to have these babies. Over one million couples each year wish to adopt a child yet only about 50,000 couples are given children. Also birth control is something that is readily available and cheap. Taking this can prevent conception and can stop the number unwanted pregnancies. People may argue, what about cases of rape? Of the 45-50 million babies aborted each year only 1% is because of rape or incest. Having an abortion is selfish on the mother’s part and is often because they were irresponsible and didn’t take precautions. Don’t be pro-choice save a life.
This is very well written Hannah! All of the statistics and information that you used in your persuasive speech impacted my life in various ways. It changed my point of view towards abortion and made me dislike the thought and action of abortion. After all should we really have the right to take another life?

DeleteI am all for this! I am really glad that you chose such a tearjerking topic. A lot of people feel that abortion is alright and they say that the unborn child is 'not alive yet'. There is actually a video that shows the child in the womb trying to push the tools away while being aborted. I am so glad that you tackled such a harsh topic and abortion is murder. No matter who you are, you should always treasure life! Pro-life for life!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Naomi, to tell you the truth, I was a little hesitant at first. I was afraid about what people might say, but in the long run I knew it was the right thing so I tackled it. I have actually seen that video as well and I was horrified to know that the doctors didn't have a heart and didn't stop when they saw it.
